September 4th Meeting Recap

Our first regular meeting of the 2025-26 Rotary Year featured a presentation on the Rotary International Convention in Calgary Canada last June.  The White hat was an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of white hats at one place (or something like that).  It was also a way to sell a lot of white hats at the convention.  RI has not indicated if the attempt was successful, but it does take some time for the Guinness people to verify and accept an attempt at a world record.  It also seems that you could not take off the White Hat without yelling "Yahoo".

President Paul gave a presentation on some of the highlights of the convention including some of the goals that RI would like to achieve during the next Rotary year.  He concluded by tipping his hat and yelling "Yahoo".

PDG & PP Kathy Kwiat-Hess also talked about the convention and showed off her White Hat without doing the "Yahoo" part.

President Paul introduced Isabella (Isa) de Melo Reis who is our exchange student from Brazil.  Isa is being hosted by Samantha Hochman and her husband Eric.  Samantha is the Executive Director of the Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum so Isa will learn a lot about Tinker this year.  Isa will be attending Harlem High School along with Loves Park Rotary's exchange student.  Isa will be making her presentation to the club on October 2nd.  Mark your calendars and join us for this special meeting.
