Veteran's Day Program

Our November 6th program will be a Veteran's Day Program featuring Kati Beck, the Loves Park Honor Guard, and the National Anthem led by Eric Moe.  We would like to see all of our veterans come and be honored for their service.
Katherine “Kati” Beck is a U.S. Air Force veteran and Certified Peer Support Specialist who has dedicated her career to veteran advocacy, mental health, and suicide prevention. Serving from 2002 to 2012 as a Korean Cryptologist and Personnelist, she now leads as the Community Engagement & Partnerships Coordinator for Suicide Prevention at the William S. Middleton VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Kati’s initiatives, including Lethal Means Safety and Firearms Training, have contributed to an 87% reduction in suicides by firearm in participating communities. A passionate advocate for survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (MST), she played a critical role in advancing the Military Justice Improvement Act and has been recognized as Chicago’s Game Changer of the Year in 2013.
She continues to build innovative partnerships and programs across Wisconsin and Illinois, serving on 46 veteran and suicide prevention coalitions to promote healing, connection, and hope for veterans and their families.
This will be an interesting program to honor our veterans for their service.  We would encourage all of our members to plan on attending this program.  It will also be an opportunity to bring a guest or prospective member to join us in person at Memorial Hall (how appropriate) or via zoom.
Elise Cadigan will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary Host.
