The March 21st meeting is set aside for committee meetings.  Committee chairs will contact their members to remind them of the meeting.  If you are not assigned to a specific committee, feel free to join us for lunch and sit in on a committee meeting.  

 

     Dr. Ray Garcia was chosen to lead Rosecrance's medical services as Chief Medical Officer on January 1st of this year.

     In his new role. Dr. Garcia will be responsible for ensuring that all programs are aligned, and that the quality of care provided is of the highest standard.

     Dr. Garcia, who previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Medical Services, has been with Rosecrance for 13 years and carries 25 years of experience i n the behavioral health field.  He is a certified psychiatrist with expertise in addition medicine and has worked closely with patients in the first responder and veterans residential program located in Rockford.  Dr. Garcia has also served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and Rockford, where he was recently honored for his 25 years of service.

     "Dr. Garcia possesses unique qualifications as a physician and educator.  Not only will Dr. Garcia build upon the best-in-class treatment provided by Rosecrance, he will work to improve our organization's standing in the education sector and ensure we are implementing best practices to continue to provide our clients with the best care possible," said Dave Gomel, Ph.D., President and CEO of Rosecrance.  "His clinical expertise and his understanding of our organization will help us to operate smoothly, efficiently, and at the highest level."

     As his topic indicates, Dr. Garcia will discuss the problem of drugs in our city and what he feels are the best solutions to combat this problem.  This will be an interesting and informative program and one that you will want to invite a guest or prospective member to join us in person at Memorial Hall or via zoom.

     Elise Cadigan will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary host.

 

 

     Our March 14th meeting featured local historian, Kathi Kresol who provided us with a number of stories about "Murder & Mayhem in Rockford".  It was an entertaining and informative program, and we thank Kathi for her presentation.

     Starting with our September 7th meeting, we will be having lunches at our noon meetings.  We will be starting with a package from Beef-A-Roo.  It will consist of a Wrap, salad, chips, cookie, and a soda or water.  There will bea variety of meats in the wraps.  This is a work in progress and things may change.  Lunches will start on September 7, 2023 and will be available at 11:45 AM the day of the meeting.

     PLEASE.  If you plan to bring a guest, PLEASE let us know 3 days in advance so we can make arrangements for food.  It will be your responsibility to cover the cost at $12.50 per meal.
