REGISTRATION OPENS FOR SAS EVENT
Beginning Thursday, June 24th until Saturday, July 24th, you are invited to register to attend the Service Above Self Awards event on Aug. 12th at Memorial Hall with a reception beginning at 5 p.m. followed by the program at 5:30. Because there will be a boxed meal for each individual, all attendees must pre-pay to attend. The cost is $20 per person, which includes your choice of one of three savory wraps: turkey club, chicken caesar, or veggie. The meal will include summery sides, a glass of red or white wine or beer, and bottled water. Additional wine and beer may be purchased. Also, there will be a complimentary non-alcoholic sparkling punch served during the reception.
The Rockford Rotary Club is not holding regular meetings during the months of July and August. Therefore, you must send payment for meals by check made out to Rockford Rotary Club and mailed to P.O. Box 1323, Rockford, IL 61105. Mailed checks must be postmarked on or before July 24th. With your payment you must indicate the choice of entre for each meal purchased; meals not specified will default to a veggie wrap.
Seating at the event will be at round tables of 6 or 7 people, and people who have been vaccinated do not have to wear masks. Volunteers to help clean up after the event will be greatly appreciated. The dress is business casual attire. Please contact a member of the SAS Committee if you have further questions.
We hope you can join us at this first major Rotary event outside of Rotary meetings since COVID. It promises to be both heart-warming and inspiring as we welcome our 2021 SAS awardees into the rich legacy of the other 311 award recipients. Additionally, we will be recognizing each of the three health care systems for a humanitarian award for their dedicated and selfless service to our community during the pandemic.
