Neighborhood Associations

As Neighborhood Specialist for the City of Rockford, Barb Chidley is responsible for engaging with neighborhood associations and other organizations working to improve quality of life for our residents. She is the co-lead for the Family Friendly Neighborhoods Team of the Ready to Learn Initiative and Steering Committee Chair of the Connect Rockford movement.
Barb taught English at the secondary and collegiate levels for fourteen years, her most memorable and influential six years spent teaching at Auburn High School. She has also served as a board member of the Community Action Agency and on the Head Start Policy Council.
Barb is a single mom of an eleven-year-old son and a twenty-year-old daughter. They have lived in Rockford in the North Highland Square Neighborhood for seven years.
Barb will talk about her job at the City of Rockford as a Neighborhood Specialist, what it entails, and how different neighborhood associations are helping to improve the quality of life in our area.  This will be an interesting and informative program and we encourage our members to invite friends or prospective members to join us in our Zoom meeting.  You can do this by forwarding the Zoom Meeting information to them.
