Rockford Rotary Scholarship Winner Update

 

 

We received the following letter from John Jurgens, one of our Scholarship Winners in 2019 (he's the tall one in the picture).

 

     My name is John Jurgens and I was chosen last spring by Mr. Burdette Anderson's daughters as one of the recipients of the scholarship in his honor.  I would like to, once again, thank the Anderson family as well as the Rockford Rotary Club for the honor that you bestowed upon me.

     I just finished my first semester at Northern Illinois University with a grade point average of 4.0, maintaining my good standing with the University Honors Program.

     Throughout this semester, I have also been volunteering my time to help coach the Guilford High School Scholastic Bowl team.  I am blessed to have the opportunity to continue contributing to the Rockford community even as I stay involved in my studies in DeKalb.

     I am wholeheartedly thankful for your support as without it, my achievements would not have been possible.

     Please give my thanks to the other members of the Rockford Rotary Club as well as the Anderson family.
