Our June 1st program was about the Rockford Homeless Project and featured (L-R), Joel Givens; Angie Walker, who is the Homeless Program Coordinator for the City of Rockford; Shannon Kopp from the Rockford Fire Department; and President Eric. They explained how the different departments are working together to try and get the homeless off the streets and into some sort of care program.
Our June 8th program was a Vocational Presentation by Janine Idstein who is the Director of Community Outreach for Olson Funeral and Cremation Services. After hearing about her various jobs over the years, she introduced Scott Olson who is the President of Olson Funeral Services and a 5th generation member. They are the oldest family-owned business in Rockford. Scott gave us an overview of the different services that are now offered including "Grenn Burial" services. It was a very informative program.
