Rosecrance Update
David Gomel is President and Chief Executive Officer of Rosecrance Health Network, a not-for-profit, comprehensive behavioral health organization. He has more than 27 years in the behavioral health field with both clinical and administrative experience. As President/CEO, Dr. Gomel oversees operations at more than 60 sites in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, a full spectrum of treatment services for substance use and mental health disorder, with an annual budget exceeding $100 million. Rosecrance Health Network employs a workforce of more than 1,400 offering a full continuum of services to more than 50,000 youth, adults and families annually.
Beginning his career at Rosecrance in 1993, Dr. Gomel has extensive experience in the behavioral healthcare field, from entry level clinician to site administrator and COO, he has experience at all levels of operations.
Dr. Gomel was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from Illinois Association of Behavioral Health (IABH) and the Rockford Chamber of Commerce People You Should Know.
A committed leader, Dr. Gomel serves on a number of local, state and national behavioral health committees, nonprofit boards, and trade organizations. Dr. Gomel is an active member of the Rockford community, serving as past chair of the Rock River Valley YMCA, the Make a Wish Foundation, Special Olympics, Kiwanis, leadership within the local schools and church, and many other charitable and athletic organizations.
Dr. Gomel holds a doctorate of philosophy in public policy and administration with an emphasis in nonprofit administration, a master of science degree in health service administration, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
