New Member - Sheryl Thogerson

Sheryl Thogerson joined The Literacy Council as Executive Director in February 2016.  Her role is to continue to grow the mission to provide literacy programs and services to adults, children, and families through marketing, grant writing and fundraising, including a new annual fundraiser, Laughs for Literacy, celebrated each November.
Prior to The Literacy Council, Sheryl served fourteen years on the Wesley WIllows Management Team in Sales, Marketing, and Fund Development.  She was instrumental in the start-up of the WIllow Ridge development of duplex homes, fundraising for the Castle Town Center, and the annual Starlight Theatre fundraiser.  She has been active in the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Northern Illinois Planned Giving Council, and Rock-On Toastmasters.
Sheryl's husband Paul is a retired Architect.  They have three children and seven grandchildren.  They enjoy trips to visit them and to Europe to discover the families heritage.  They look forward each year to hosting International Kite Designers that gather at U-MAKE, and annual Kite Design and Build event in Oregon, Illinois.
Sheryl was sponsored by Don Kinney and we would encourage all of our members to meet Sheryl and welcome her to Rockford Rotary.
