Institute of World Affairs and Trade

The Institute of World Affairs and Trade (IWAT) is part of the History, and International Studies Department (HAIS) at Rockford University.  Led by Dr. Forslund and Donald Manzullo, former Congressman and department adjunct professor, IWAT sponsors programs in a variety of areas, many of which are directly tied to the interests of HAIS.
Historians are always reinterpreting the past, largely because our present day concerns continue to change. History is neither stagnant nor dull. It is not based on memorization but on interpretation and analysis. Understanding history involves integrating ideas and economics as well as a consideration of the influence of individuals and social forces.
Don Manzullo was served in the US House of Representatives from 1993 to 2013.  He served as Chairman of Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, and is President and CEO, Korea Economic Institute of America.
Don Manzullo will discuss the Institute of World Affairs and Trade and why it is an important part of Rockford University.  He will talk about how it got started and his role in the Institute.
This will be an interesting and informative program about a new organization at Rockford University and the Stateline area.  It will be an opportunity to bring a guest or prospective member to join at us at Memorial Hall or via Zoom.  Helen Hill will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary Host.
