Stories from the Southern Border &
The Impact of COVID-19 on Asylum Seekers

Linda Zuba is a local attorney, community activist, and human rights advocate.  She was born in Bogota, Colombia and came to the United States with her mother and sister when she was 4.
Prior to practicing law in Rockford, she was a critical care nurse and educator for over 15 years.
Linda has been to the southern border 5 times.  Her last planned trip was cancelled because of the pandemic, but she continues to volunteer with a couple of local organizations working with asylum seekers via videoconferencing or Whatsapp.
Linda will tell stories from the southern border and discuss the impact that COVID-19 is having on asylum seekers.
This will be an interesting and informative program about a timely topic.  We would encourage our members to forward the Zoom Meeting information to guests and prospective members.  As of press time, we were still seeking an appropriate host to introduce our presenter.
