Rockford Driving Park
 
     Amanda Becker was born and raised and continues to live in Rockford.  She graduated from Auburn High School in 2000, earned her Associate's Degree from Rock Valley College in 2002.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree in History from Rockford College (now University) in 2005.  She then returned to her alma mater, Auburn, to teach Social Science courses and continues to do so today
     In addition, she volunteers for many community organizations, including as a member of the Education Committee and reenactor at Midway Village and Macktown, the Boards of Rockford Historical Society and Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum, participant with Haunted Rockford tours and volunteer guest lecturer at the Rock Valley College Center for Learning in Retirement (CLR).  She is a member of Roger's Rangers reenactment group, seen at Macktown at The Gathering in April and Frenchmen's Frolic in October.  Se is also a member of the auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans.
     Amanda will talk about her new book, "Rockford's Forgotten Driving Park" which was built in the North End of Rockford.  This will be an interesting and informative program about a piece of Rockford History.  It will also be an excellent opportunity to bring a guest or prospective member.  Martha Byrnes will introduce out presenter and act as Rotary host.
