Rockford Area Arts Council

Caitlyn Baylor joined the Rockford Area Arts Council as Executive Director in February of this year and previously served as the organization’s Vice President and Grants Chair from 2016 through 2018.  A Rockford native, Caitlyn graduated from Auburn High School and went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Grinnell College. Upon graduating, she received the 2012-2013 GrinnellCorps Fellowship to spend a year practicing community development work with Jericho Road Housing Initiative in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Caitlyn returned to Rockford in 2013 to serve for one year as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with ZION Development. Her service years with community- and housing-development organizations led her to Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity, where she was the Business Manager from 2014 until early this year.
Caitlyn sees her new role with the Arts Council, whose mission is to develop arts access for everyone, as a convergence of her background in community and nonprofit work as well as her background in the arts.
This program should be interesting for all of our members and especially for those who do not know about the role that the RAAC plays in this community.  It will also be an excellent opportunity to bring a guest or prospective member.  Keri Nelson will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary Host.
