A Photographer's Life,
Assignment Stories and
Tips for Taking Better Photos

Alyce Henson, a visual storyteller for more than 20 years, served as the first staff photographer for Rotary International from 2004 to 2019. Alyce started at Rotary as the Supervisor of Photography and Senior Photographer. Over the span of her career she documented projects globally and locally lead by Rotarians taking action in their own communities to address the pressing issues of eradicating polio and other diseases, providing clean water, maternal and child health, peace programs, education and growing local economies. Often projects included working with other top-rated NGO partners, such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, WHO, UNICEF, Habitat for Humanity and ShelterBox. Projects varied from working as part of production crew as the still photographer, producing projects independently, managing event photography and wrapping up her time at Rotary by producing and directing the India segment of the Heroes of Polio Eradication (HoPE) video series for World Polio Day 2019.
Alyce enjoys staying connected to the many Rotarians she has met worldwide and befriended through their work together. Currently, Alyce Henson works as a freelance photographer in Chicago, Illinois. Her work can be viewed on her website: alycehenson.com and on Instagram: @alycehenson_photography.
Alyce will talk about her experiences as a photographer for Rotary International and her current status as a freelance photographer.  This will be an interesting and entertaining presentation and one to invite a friend or prospective member.  You can do this by simply forwarding the Zoom invite information to them.  OR, since this will be our first hybrid meeting, invite them to join us at Memorial Hall.  More details about the hybrid meeting will follow.  Elise Cadigan will introduce our presenter who may or may not be at Memorial Hall.
