Brovary Ukraine Teens Visit In observance of Veteran's Day on November 11th, Bob Canfield will give a special invocation. Last summer, a group of teens from our Sister City, Brovary in the Ukraine, visited our community. Trisha Tousant and Tamica Fricks will share the behind-the-scenes story of how the Rockford community showed up to host the Ukrainian teens. Trisha Tousant has been engaged in the Y movement for 23 years. Moving to the region in 2011, she brought her passion for the Y mission and service to others, as well as her expertise in program and leadership development. She currently serves as the COO at the YMCA or Rock River Valley and as a volunteer in organizations throughout the region. Tamica Fricks serves Rockford's youth as the Teen Director at the SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA. She is a native of Rockford and has served at the YMCA for over 8 years. Tamica's passion for helping our youth reach their goals and fulfill their potential is evident in her work not only at the Y, but also as founder of the Kendel Sherman Foundation. This will be an interesting and informative program and one you will want to invite a guest or prospective member to join us in person or via Zoom. Mike Foreman will introduce our speakers and act as Rotary host. |
