Our annual Holiday program will feature the Auburn High School A Capella group to lead us in some holiday music to get us in the holiday spirit.
Auburn A Cappella is excited to return to the Rotary Club this year! Now in its fifth year, this growing ensemble meets twice a week after school to rehearse a wide range of a cappella music, from pop and jazz to contemporary favorites. Auburn A Cappella is proudly student-driven, with singers contributing ideas, arrangements, and creative direction. They love taking their music on the road, sharing their voices with elementary and middle schools and performing at community events throughout the area. Each year, the group continues to expand, refine their sound, and strengthen their presence in the community.
Mary Ann Norwood will be hosting our program and we hope to have more information next week.
Our December 11th meeting featured Whitney Martin who gave a very upbeat presentation on the "Made for Rockford" program, a high touch talent attraction initiative under the region's tourism bureau. Her enthusiasm and passion for the program were very evident.
President Paul presented Whitney with her coffee cup as a token of our appreciation for her presentation.
Thank you to all of our members who helped us raise money for the Salvation Army. We will try and find out how much money was contributed during our three days of manning the kettles. A special thank you to those who braved the single digit temperatures on Saturday, December 13th at Schnucks on State Street. The heater helped a lot.
Dick Lunde, Mary Ann Norwood, and Wray Howard seem to be having a good time.
Pam Olson and Jim Coffey braved the low temps at Schnucks on State.
Isa de Melo Reis, our exchange student joins Kathy Kwiat-Hess and Linda Johnson at Schnucks on State.

L-R - President Paul, Monica Glenny, and Bob Canfield, Foundation Chair.
Paul Harris Fellow
Foundation Chair, Bob. Canfield presented Monica Glenny with her Paul Harris plus+2 pin at our December 4th meeting. After the initial contribution of $1,000 to the Rotary International Foundation which qualifies a person as a Paul Harris Fellow, each additional $1,000 donated earns the next level of recognition. This means that Monica has contributed at least $3,000 to the RI Foundation. Congratulations to Monica for her continued support
We will continue to serve lunches for $12 each week. We currently are having food from the Beef-A-Roo, but we will alternate each month between Beef-A-Roo and the Sandwich Shop. Monica will be more than happy to take your money for lunch.
