Have you checked out your roster picture lately?  Does it look a bit out of date?  Are you not dressed well?
Here is your chance to update your roster picture and get a free professional head shot you can use for business, social media, or whatever.
Tom Clabough will be taking pictures on April 5th starting at 11:30 AM.  Be sure and wear business attire and you can get a professional head shot done for nothing.  If you were to go to some other professional photographer, you would spend big bucks, now is your chance to get it done for free.
So, new members and old who want to update your roster picture, come by at 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 5th in the room behind the sign-in table.

District Governor-elect (DGE) Kathy Kwiat-Hess and her husband Bob Hess headed to San Diego for the 2018 International Assembly.

Picture from left: DGE Kathy Kwiat-Hess with her husband Bob, RIPE Barry Rassin, and 6440 DGE Julie Clark with her husband John.

The Assembly, held over a six day period, is the training meeting that prepares district governors-elect for their roles as governor, introduces Rotary International's priorities for the coming year; and provide opportunities to network with governors-elect from around the world. The International Assembly also features engaging and informational programs for the governor-elect spouses.  In addition, Rotary International President-elect (RIPE) Barry Rassin, a member of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, meets with the District Governors-elect and lays out his vision and challenges for the coming Rotary year.

One of the best things about Rotary is the chance to meet new people and make new friends. Every Rotary meeting provides time to share stories and connect over a shared interest of Doing Good in the World.  Pictures are 6440 DGE Julie Clark, Mandi Wendt from Australia and DGE Kathy Kwiat-Hess, tells that very story.

DGE Kathy met Mandi at the 2017 International Convention in Atlanta.  She was able to reconnect in San Diego where Mandi was a plenary speaker.

The Chicago Rotary International Peacebuilding Through Education and Literacy will be held on June 2, 2018 at the Chicago South Shore Cultural Center established in 1905, the same year Rotary International was founded by Chicagoan Paul Harris. The South Shore Cultural Center is located on Lake Michigan and is in the heart of Chicago.
This is one of 6 Presidential Peacebuilding Conferences, host by Rotary International President Ian Riseley, around the world in 2018.  Chicago is the only site for the U.S. based Peacebuilding Conference focused on Peace through Education and Literacy.  The Peacebuilding Conference in Chicago will highlight the many opportunities we all have to build peace through education and literacy locally and globally.

The Rockford Rotary Board, on January 23rd, approved a new membership dues option for Spouses and Partners who want to join Rockford Rotary together.  With this new policy prospective new members have three ways to join Rotary: as an individual; in a Corporate group; or with their spouses or partners.  Potential members, regardless of which category, must still be sponsored by a current Rockford Rotary member, complete the club's application and be approved for membership.  All members are expected to support the goals and objects of Rotary through service at the club and district level, as well as, through annual giving to The Rotary Foundation and Polio Now fund.
The goal of these additional membership options is to attract new members, allowing Rockford Rotary to more in both our local and global communities. The more people to help, the more we can DO GOOD IN THE WORLD.
Both of these policies can be found at http://www.Rockfordrotary.org under the Members Only tab, but can be accessed without a password.
